Dedicated to Transforming Mecklenburg County
We work to improve the quality of life for residents by preserving, promoting and enhancing parks, greenways, open spaces, active play, and recreational opportunities that celebrate local identity and foster sustainability.
We collaborate with community partners, engage residents, and secure resources to create safe, equitable, and connected recreational spaces that inspire healthy living, foster environmental stewardship, and strengthen community bonds.
"Parks are the heart of a community; they are shared spaces designed purely for social connection, recreation, and enjoyment. I love that parks are intentional, inclusive, and judicious in their purpose—free from commercial demands and existing solely to enhance well-being and foster a sense of belonging within the community."
- Emily Condon
